We repair and upgrade any make and model of computer, except
MacIntosh/Apple. However, we do not always recommend upgrading or
repairing a computer if it’s several years old because the cost of repair or
upgrade can be as much or more than purchasing a better used or new
computer.
We also repair laptops and printers. The most common
hardware problem we are seeing in laptops is the dc connection inside the
laptop becomes loose and the laptop doesn’t power on. We have a
technician named Vu who is very good at taking the laptop completely apart
and replacing the connector with a more solid connector than what was
originally installed in the laptop. Vu can also fix any printer.
He’s been working on printers and laptops for more than 20 years.
However, if you can purchase a new printer for $50, then it’s considered a
disposable printer and you should purchase a new one instead of having it
repaired.
The most common problem we see computers coming into our
store for repair is the complaint that, “My computer is running really
slow”. It’s usually due to spyware (see article) but sometimes it can
be due to hardware. A hard drive that is beginning to fail can also
cause the computer to run very slow.
