Do you repair laptops ?
Yes, we do. If it is running slow, it may be infected. You can
find information on viruses and spyware in our related article under
Top 10 Tips. We usually recommend formatting the hard drive and
reinstalling the operating system. We charge between $70 to $135
depending on the operating system and if there is data to backup.
Another common problem is that it is not holding a
charge. You may have tried replacing the battery and the charger.
While these are sometimes the problem, quite often it is the dc jack
itself. That is where you plug the charger into the laptop.
Sometimes it gets loose and breaks off from the main board. Many
shops will tell you have to replace the motherboard at a cost of
$400 or more. We can actually replace the jack itself at a cost of
$150 to $200.
One other common problem is the screen not working properly.
Sometimes the problem is with the inverter which is usually
about $200 and if the screen needs to be replaced, we can
usually do that for $250 to $300 on most brands.
One last problem we see quite often is a keyboard with keys
missing. If you have the keys and none of the clips are broken
or missing, we can fix that for $35, but if we have to replace
the keyboard, that usually runs about $85 to $100 depending on
the brand.
If you are having some other problem with your laptop, bring
it to us or ship it to us and we can diagnose if for a $35
diagnostic fee, which is applied to the repair or purchase of
another laptop.
